A 2013 Hyundai Sonata was traveling eastbound on a private drive. The vehicle failed to make the turn onto Smith Road and struck an embankment on the east side of Smith Road.

The driver died at the scene. The sheriff’s department has not yet released the man’s name, pending notification of relatives.

The sheriff’s office says the cause of the crash is currently under investigation. Preliminary investigation indicates that alcohol was a factor in the crash, according to a news release from the sheriff’s department.
