EDITOR:

There’s a madman in the White House and those with any courage, conscience or sanity have left the building.

The real purpose of a news conference

As of Monday, March 30, Trump is talking about seizing Iranian oil. Was it ever about obliterating Iran’s nuclear capability that he’d already “100 percent obliterated” not too long ago? Seems he’d been content with Venezuelan oil—until he wasn’t. But at least he’s got proceeds from the sale of it squirreled away in a bank account in Qatar that he controls. Qatar is the nation that gave Trump a $400 million Boeing jet as a gift last year. (Source: The Independent.) Gas prices are skyrocketing even for those pickup trucks with Trump flags fluttering in their black exhausts. Burn that diesel, Dude.

Trump’s blockade is starving the people of Cuba of food and water and starving their power grids of oil. Children aren’t getting enough to eat and patients on ventilators are dying as their ventilators gasp to silence.

Trump’s military bombed fishermen in the Caribbean killing at least 95 according to Britannica; accusing them of smuggling, but never showing proof they were smuggling anything besides fish.

Trump’s ICE agents are beating people in the streets of American cities and have shot and killed at least three—two of them American-born citizens. ICE is buying up warehouses all over the country with millions in taxpayer money to house all the migrants they’re grabbing now and questioning later. This includes by the way, 3,800 little kids, 900 of whom have been held beyond the 20-day limit. (Source: The Marshall Project.) This is under the guise of ridding the country of the “criminal and most dangerous.” But it seems to be more about black and brown people.

Trump is threatening Congress that he won’t sign another bill until he gets the SAVE Act passed. (Not sure of the acronym, but it may have something to do with saving his behind from prison when the Democrats get control of Congress and impeach him.) The idea seems to be to stop women and poor people from voting by making them produce a passport costing up to $195. (Source: U.S. State Department)

TSA workers protecting our American skies have been missing their earned paychecks for weeks. They’re lining up at food pantries and racking up late fees on unpaid bills while Congress is on a two-week vacay.

This is a mess. Over seven million people showed up for the No Kings Rally on Saturday. (Source: Reuters.) Didn’t Trump L-O-S-E the 2020 election by over 7 million in the popular vote? It was 7,059,526 according to the U.S. Federal Election Committee. You know: where they count the votes by the number of votes, not by the electoral college.

Trump has commandeered the God-fearing, What-Would-Jesus-Do folks into spewing hate the other six days of their week. Some of our rational, loving family members have drunk the Kool-Aid.

What happened to America?
