Last Tuesday, members of the Platte County Sheriff’s Department and the Platte County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office began serving 20 narcotics-related warrants. Twenty five officers were used in the operation, and 20 drug arrests were made.

Zed Martin Days proved to be a success, drawing a good-sized crowd to Platte City’s downtown Friday night and Saturday for fun, frolic and in the case of the Truman Glenn Award, to honor residents for their service to the community. Some of the action of the celebration is shown in photos. Platte City’s Victoria Lynn provided musical entertainment for the barbecue contestants Friday night. Platte City Caring Center’s old time rock and roll float entry in Saturday’s parade is shown. The parade, around an hour in length, had many entries including a host of political candidates. Co-recipients of the Truman Glenn Award are Laverne and Verda Mae Lutte. They were pictured with Truman Glenn’s daughter, Trudy LaForce, and his granddaughter, Heidi LaForce.
