The cashier at the United Metro Phillips 66 station in Platte City that was robbed on Dec. 7 has picked out a suspect from a photograph, and Platte City Police Chief Ron Canaday on Wednesday morning said police are hoping the Platte County Prosecutor’s Office will file charges soon. The station was robbed by a man showing a gun at 9:45 a.m. on Dec. 7. As the cashier fled to a back room, the robber reached in the window and grabbed cash. He fled on foot.

An audit of the Platte County Circuit Court Clerk’s office is the latest step in the investigation of the disappearance of $2,000 from the office. The audit was expected to begin this week and could take a week or two. The audit is now the main focus of the investigation, though the Platte County Sheriff’s Department is continuing to follow other leads.

Students bought links for paper chains at 25 cents each and got to write their name on each link purchased. Over the five day period that the fundraiser ran, students collected $500 to donate to the United Services of Platte County. Students presented a check for $500 fo Michele Barton of United Services on Friday.
