“Go Big Blue” was printed on the surfboard of a student on the seventh grade float in the annual West Platte Homecoming Parade Friday. The float urged the Blue Jays to “Wig Out on the Mules.” Maui Magic was the theme for the parade. The Blue Jays beat the Lathrop Mules 21-13. Robin Moppin, daughter of Ronald and Darlene Moppin of Weston, was crowned homecoming queen.
Tina Hall, daughter of Carol Ingraham and William Hall of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Shaker Pepper, son of Ed and Joy Pepper of Platte City, have announced their engagement and upcoming marriage. Tina is a graduate of West Forsyth High School, attends Park College and is employed by PARS in Kansas City. Shaker graduated Platte County R-3 High School and attended NWMSU and is employed by Midwest Wholesale Hardware in Kansas City City. An Oct. 17 wedding is planned at Park Hill Baptist Church.
Mr. and Mrs. John Bly of Parkville announce the engagement of their daughter, Lorri, to Floyd Cotter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Cotter of Viola, Ark. The bride-to-be is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City. The groom-to-be is a graduate of the University of Arkansas and both are presently employed at an engineering firm in Mountain Home, Ark. The wedding will be Oct. 17, 1992.
