Dr. Ruth Elizabeth Bailey and R. Roger Allen Eskridge were united in marriage on Saturday, May 5, 1979 at the Mount Tabor United Methodist Church in Winston Salem, North Carolina. The father of the bride officiated. Parents of the bride are Dr. and Mrs. D. Edwin Bailey, Sr., of Winston Salem. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Rudolf Giles Eskridge of Liberty, Mo.


Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Tyler of Platte City announce the birth of their twin sons on April 20, 1979 at Spelman Memorial Hospital in Smithville. They have been named Jason Stephen and Justin Shane. They weighed seven pounds, 2.5 ounces and eight pounds, 4.5 ounces.

Mr. and Mrs. John Robinson, Weston, were honored Sunday, May 6, 1979 with a surprise buffet luncheon and reception to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. It was hosted by their children. The wedding of Miss Nevlee Fellows to Mr. John Robinson took place in Leavenworth Monday, May 6, 1929 at the Presbyterian Church. Rev. John B. Clyde, the pastor, read the service. Mr. and Mrs. Robinson were attended by J. T. Crockett and Miss Jean Knox Clyde.


An afternoon of fun and games for all in the Platte City area who are 55 years of age or older will be held at the Platte City United Methodist Church on Wednesday, May 16. Sponsored by United Methodist Women.
