Mr. and Mrs. Jess R. Taulbee of Platte City, Mo. have announced the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Elizabeth Ann, to Mark Richard Hodgson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hodgson of Torrington, Wyoming. An Aug. 10, 1991 wedding is planned in Platte City, Mo.


The North Platte Elementary PTA Carnival will be held Saturday, April 20, 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the school in Camden Point. This year’s theme will be “Tall Tales.”

Platte City United Methodist Church will present Steve Pennington on Sunday morning April 21, at 8:45 and 10:45 a.m. Steve uses songs, puppets, story telling, magic that amazes children and involvement of the audience with comedy and participation.


A Civil War “camp” complete with tent was set up outside the Platte City Annex school Monday as participants in the Battle of Bee Creek reenactment visited with students. Among those visiting with the students in costumes were Susan Fedrizzi, Peggy DeJarnatt, Jim DeJarnatt and Jerry Ann Beadles.


Mattie Mae Blankenship attended the wedding of Billy Rogers and Lisa Williams Saturday night at the Baptist church.
