The Platte County Recorder of Deeds office has moved to the basement of the John R. Moore Law Building on Main Street in Platte City as of this week.


Mark Mitchell of Huntsville, Ala., spent last weekend with his parents, Dr. and Mrs. C.W. Mitchell.

Applauding the county’s election decision

45 Years Ago–Feb. 13, 1981


The Platte City Chamber of Commerce elected the following officers at their monthly meeting on Thursday morning: Mike McGinness, president; Jack Cockrill, vice-resident; Sherry Wright, secretary and Jack Coots, treasurer.


International Harvestor Truck Division of Kansas City announces the promotion of Frank D. Offutt, of Platte City, to retail sales representative. Frank has been assigned to the 38th St. branch with his territory including Platte County.


The descendants of Simeon Branham and Emmaline Miller Herndon had their annual reunion at Little Platte Baptist Church on Sept. 17. A bountiful basket dinner was enjoyed by 35 family members.


The Platte County Christian Women’s Fellowship will meet at Ferrelview Christian Church on Oct. 4, 1978. A covered dish lunch will be served at 12 noon. Medford Hardesty will give the afternoon program.
