On Monday, not only did democracy win, but so did the voters of Platte County; the voters will get a choice on the ballot in August and November.
The Platte County Democratic Central Committee applauds the vote taken Monday by two members of the Platte County Commission. We are still wary, however, of how far potentially removing candidates from the ballot went.

The actions taken in Platte City have shown how important the 2026 elections are going to be. It may be an election unlike any we have seen in our lifetime. The attempted removal of candidates from a public ballot should scare each and every American.

Platte County Democrats helped organize 50+ individuals from across the county to attend both the work session last Thursday and the official commission meeting today. Without citizen engagement, who knows what may have happened?

The Platte County Democratic Party is ready to head to November and elect Democrats at all levels, including Mary McKenna for Platte County Presiding Commissioner and Hans Peter for Platte County Clerk.
