SATURDAY, JULY 4 AT HAPPY ROCK PARK
250 years celebrated in one historic night. That’s how organizers are framing this Independence Day celebration to be held in Gladstone.
It will be a big-time July 4th celebration in the Northland. The Gladstone Freedom Fest is ready to roll on Saturday, July 4 at Happy Rock Park located at 7600 NE Antioch Road in Gladstone.
It will feature everything from live music headlined by country music star Montgomery Gentry featuring Eddie Montgomery, ice cream, food trucks, cold drinks and a beer garden available throughout the day.
Capping off the evening will be a spectacular fireworks display that organizers say “promises to be bigger than ever, expected to be the largest display Gladstone has ever presented, the show will light up the sky in tribute to 250 years of American independence.”
There will be family-friendly entertainment featuring bounce houses, slides and obstacle courses for all ages.
Schedule of events includes:
11 a.m. Gates open.
Enjoy Great American Kites exhibition, inflatables, food vendors, and festival entertainment throughout the afternoon.
4 p.m. Musical group known as Superstar Mafia will perform, offering “a high energy live performance on the main stage.”
6 p.m. Skydiving Demonstration.
6:15 p.m. The Elders, Kansas City’s favorite Celtic rock band takes the stage.
7:45 p.m. Ice cream eating contest. Watch contestants go scoop-for-scoop in this sweet competition.
8:30 p.m. Montgomery Gentry takes the stage.
10 p.m. Ultimate Fireworks Display.
