Melinda (Mindy) Morgan has been hired as the new city clerk for Platte City. She is shown with Bryan Richison, city administrator. Morgan replaces Melissa Bazert, who left the post several months ago to take the city clerk position at Parkville. Morgan most recently worked in the Platte County Courthouse as chief deputy circuit clerk/court clerk for the state of Missouri in the Sixth District Circuit Court of Platte County. Morgan was one of six applicants interviewed for the open position. For the court, Morgan supervised a staff of 19 court clerks within associate, circuit, civil, criminal/traffic, probate, domestic and child support. Her employment with Platte City was formally approved by the board of aldermen at a meeting on Feb. 24.
