As of Tuesday, at least one alderman spot will have competition. Tina Welch, incumbent in ward one, has filed for reelection and a challenger, Joe Leluga, has also filed for the ward one seat.

Other alderman spots up for grabs are seats currently held by Bob Bennett in ward two, Stephen Melton in ward three and Michael Lee in ward four. Of those three, Melton is the only one to file for reelection as of Tuesday morning.

Newcomer Mark A. Hill has filed in ward two, and newcomer Evan Maxon has filed in ward four.

No one has yet filed for the post of municipal judge, which is currently held by Kevin Humiston.

At Parkville, aldermen positions and the municipal judge are two year terms.

Filing can be done at City Hall and the deadline is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30.

The municipal election will be held on Tuesday, April 7.
