‘BRINGING SERVICES CLOSER TO RESIDENTS,’ MAYOR SAYS
The City of Parkville marked a major public safety milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of the new Parkville Police Department Satellite Station, Thursday, Dec. 11.
The satellite station is located at 7069 Elizabeth St, Suite 200 in the Creekside neighborhood of Parkville.
City officials, community partners and residents attended “as Parkville continues its commitment to accessible, community-centered policing,” the city says in a press release.
The new satellite station will serve as an additional hub for police services and neighborhood engagement. Strategically located to improve response capability and resident convenience, “the facility reinforces Parkville’s proactive approach to public safety and strengthens relationships between officers and the community they serve,” the city says.
“This satellite station represents a meaningful step forward in our ongoing effort to bring government services closer to residents,” said Parkville Mayor Dean Katerndahl. “The Parkville Police Department is a cornerstone of our community, and this new space supports their work while increasing accessibility for the neighborhoods around it.”
Kevin Chrisman, police chief, emphasized the station’s role in enhancing visibility and community trust.
“Our goal is to be present, approachable, and responsive,” Chrisman said. “This station gives citizens another place to connect with officers, ask questions, share concerns and partner with us to keep Parkville safe.”
The satellite station is expected to support a range of functions including community meetings, report-taking, outreach programming, and officer work space to increase patrol presence in surrounding areas.
