A new restaurant is now open in Platte City. The Cove, a family-owned, full-service restaurant and bar serving Platte County and surrounding areas opened recently at 524 Branch Street (Hwy. 92) in Platte City, serving pizza, sandwiches, burgers, salads, drinks and more. As detailed in a Landmark story back in August, Don MacCuish and his son Donny are the forerunners for the restaurant, leading the vision and the day-to-day operations as owners/operators of the family venture. Don’s wife, Amy, serves on the Platte County R-3 School Board and they are active members of the First Baptist Church of Platte City. Their daughter, Emma, specializes in marketing and communications, while their son Evan focuses on menu development. Grandson Kooper “serves as our ‘mascot’ and inspiration for the kids’ menu,” Don said. Learn more about the restaurant from its Facebook page at The Cove Platte City.
