Mr. and Mrs. Mark Cutler of Platte City announce the birth of their daughter, Meredith Jean, on Oct. 22 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kansas City. She weighed six pounds, 10 ounces.
Nov. 6 is Election Day in Missouri and every voter will have the opportunity to make a choice on two proposed constitutional amendments. The first concerns water pollution bonds and the second concerns roads and highways. The voters in the past have considered 75 amendments to our state’s Constitution. They have adopted 48 and rejected the others. Two rejected last year attracted more votes than the political candidates, something which had never before happened.
Danna Kay Rule, daughter of Mary C. St. John, Kansas City, and Billy Dan Rule, united in marriage to Ralph H. Porter, Jr. on Sept. 29 at the Park Hill Christian Church of Parkville. The Rev. Harold W. VanCleave performed the double ring ceremony.
Last week’s final letterpress edition of The Landmark carried a touch of nostalgia for Lucile Jones and Roland Giffee. Both staff members had learned the trade in the school of hard knocks. The old letterpress printing method demanded more training and perhaps demanded a little more dedication on the trade than does the new offset printing method.
