Country music recording group Blackhawk and country artist Shawn Camp will take the stage at the Platte County Fair Friday night. The fair is underway this week, Wednesday through Saturday, at the fairgrounds in Tracy. The concert Friday night will begin at 8 p.m. when Shawn Camp performs. He’ll be followed by Blackhawk, which is watching its newest release, “Every Once in a While,” continue to climb the charts.
Construction is underway on the first building of North Oak Medical Park, a 12-acre site on the northeast corner of 94th Street and North Oak. The 60,000 sq. ft. structure will be the home of the eight-physician Gashland Clinic, as well as other physician practices, a laboratory, pharmacy and physical therapy unit when it opens later this year.
The United States Achievement Academy has announced that Tiffany Lynn Norris has been named a United States national award winner in English. Tiffany, who attends West Platte Junior High, was nominated for this national award by William O. Scott, a counselor at the school. Tiffany will appear in the United States Achievement Academy official yearbook.
