Parade, skydiving, fireworks set at Parkville

On Monday, July 4th

Parkville’s traditional salute to Independence Day will be a celebration to be held Monday, July 4.

Parkville’s celebration will include a pancake breakfast, a community parade, food, fun, shopping, a skydiving exhibition, and a fireworks finale at 9:30 p.m.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

PARKVILLE 4th of JULY PARADE

10 a.m. start time at 63rd Street and Hwy. 9, ending on Main Street in downtown Parkville. Independence Day trivia and giveaways will start at 10 a.m. (at 1st and Main Street).

Roads close in and around downtown Parkville at approximately 9:30 a.m.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST

8 – 11 am at the American Legion Post, 11 Main Street.

FALCON SKYDIVING EXHIBITION

8:30 p.m. (approx.)

4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS SHOW

9:30 p.m.

There are many locations throughout downtown Parkville to watch the fireworks display – the ballfield south of the parking lot, anywhere on Main Street in downtown Parkville and English Landing Park are the front row seats.

MORE INFO AND ‘THINGS TO DO’:

. Restaurants will be open ALL DAY on the 4th.

. Many stores will be open before and after the parade. Several will be open all day.

. Parkville Mini Golf will be open all day.

. Family-friendly activities hosted by River Park Church will take place at BallField 1 (south of the city parking lot) following the parade and throughout the afternoon.

.Sno Cones, Kettle Korn, Fruit Smashers, Drinks, BBQ, Hot Dogs, etc will be located near the Farmer’s Market, starting at 6 p.m.

.Face painting with Plz Paint Me will be located near the Farmer’s Market, starting at 6 pm.

.Bubble Magic will have its bubble display for the kids and music from 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.

.Enjoy English Landing Park – miles of walking and biking trails, picnics, pickleball, playgrounds, frisbee golf, sand volleyball, basketball

. Platte Landing Park and the Dog Park will be closed on July 4th due to the setup of the fireworks show.

. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets for a front row seat at the fireworks show.

. The city parking lot (south of RR tracks)

. Parking lot at entrance of English Landing Park

. Parking on Main Street and East Street

. Parking lot at 4th Street and Hwy 9 (east side)

. Parking lot at 6th Street and Hwy 9 (east side)

SHUTTLE SERVICE

. 6 – 11 p.m., pick-up and drop-off location: South Platte YMCA (8875 Clark Ave, Parkville, MO 64152)

Unloading & Loading in downtown Parkville will be at the old bank lot (across from the post office).
