Platte County captured third place in the West Platte Invitational with a 54-46 win over North Platte. That victory came following a first round win over Smithville 70-58 and a semifinal round loss to Lafayette 52-45.


Del Winston, Platte County Vo-Tech teacher, was teaching in a classroom in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia last week when he got a call at 8:30 a.m. telling him his flight home was available. Winston, a Korean War veteran, figured it was time to leave the war zone when Iraq started dropping SCUD missiles on Riyadh.

Park Hill senior Audra Miller spoke to the Platte County Jaycees. Miller spoke about the importance of our free enterprise system and all of the world changes. Miller is doing this as part of a marketing and DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) project sponsored by Phillips 66.


Platte County Commission held a public hearing and gave final approval to a 1991 budget that calls for expenditures for all funds of $7,068,812.


Platte County Lady Pirates brought home fourth place from the Smithville Invitational last week, winning their first round game before dropping their next two.
