Kansas City area sports bars usually see a big increase in business on Chiefs game days and that was the case Saturday night at the Final Score at Sam’s Town Casino. The bar’s big screen television, 12 ft. by 12 ft., is the largest TV/video wall in Kansas City.
The University of Missouri-Columbia College of Education and the Platte County School District are working hand-in-hand to develop an innovative curriculum for high school students. Teachers from Platte County spent a week at MU last month to continue development of a new curriculum for their schools. The Platte County representatives have created classroom plans that will incorporate project-centered, integrated learning experiences for all levels.
The Platte City Chamber of Commerce sponsored a ribbon cutting ceremony for The Platte City Chiropractic Center that reopened its doors on May 6. The office is located at 220 Main St. downtown. Charles J. Byrom, D.C. is a longtime resident and chiropractor in Platte County. Byrom reopened his chiropractic center to financially assist his Philippine medical mission every year. Last year, he spent two weeks in the Philippines working mainly with children. This year, a team of 26 volunteers included an OBGYN surgical doctor, an ophthalmologist and a plastic surgeon.
