United in marriage on Dec. 27, 1975 at the First Baptist Church, Platte City, were Miss Rebecca Aylsworth and R. Mike Haxton. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Aylsworth, Platte City. The groom is the son of Mrs. Opal Haxton and the late Ray Haxton, Overland Park, Kan.


Mr. and Mrs. Forest Miller will celebrate 50 years of marriage on Sunday, Feb. 1. It will be held at the Smithville Housing Center in Smithville from 2-4 p.m.

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Baker, Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Johnston returned home Saturday from a winter vacation. They joined a group pf 37 on the International Tour. They flew to San Juan, Puerto Rico, then boarded the ship “Carla C” and sailed into ports at Willemstad, Venezuela, Port of Spain, Port of France, and St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands.


Edward Beall is the new branch manager for Liberty Savings Association at Platte City. Mr. Beall and his family make their home in Kansas City.


Keith Ann Deffenbaugh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry B. Deffenbaugh of Weston, and H. Edward Zeller, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Harland E. Zeller of Merriam, Kan. were united in marriage on Jan. 23, 1976.
