The Platte County Administrative Court has decided to reduce some of the rent it pays for space to save money to help pay for the eventual annex in the long range plans. At Thursday’s meeting the court members agreed to terminate a lease for rental in the Witt and Boggs building as soon as possible. The building presently houses the University of Missouri Extension offices and county voting machines are stored there.
A country western benefit dance will be held Saturday, April 18 from 8 p.m. to midnight at the KCI Holiday Inn, I-29 and 291 Highway. Music will be by The Country Way featuring “Bum” Williams and Harvey Kimray. Reservations for tables of eight or 10 only may be called to the Holiday Inn. A special dinner is being offered before the dance, 14 oz. strip steak, or one pound of crab legs with all of the trimmings, including a bottle of wine. Reservations only. A $2 donation at the door will go to the Ben Ferrel Platte County Museum in Platte City, the only county museum in Platte County.
