EDITOR:

I read with interest the recent Letter to the Editor, “Purpose of the Central Committee Member.” While it accurately described the duties and responsibilities of your party’s central committee member, it did not address whether those responsibilities are being carried out effectively.
Leadership isn’t a title—it is action.

The central committee plays an important role in building a strong Republican Party. That means recruiting volunteers, supporting Republican candidates, organizing effective get-out-the-vote efforts, and engaging voters year-round. These efforts are essential if we want to elect Republicans and prevent Democrats from gaining ground in Platte County.

Many grassroots Republicans believe it is time for new energy, citizen driven leadership and a renewed commitment to these responsibilities. Everyday citizens are stepping forward because they care about their community, their party, and the future of Platte County. They are willing to put in the time and effort required to serve Republican voters and strengthen our local organization.

The purpose of a central committee member isn’t simply to hold an office. It is to serve, work with others, and represent the voters who elected them. Experience is valuable, but effective leadership is measured by involvement, commitment, and results.

Platte County Republicans deserve a central committee that is visible, engaged, and committed to doing the work.
