EDITOR:
My name is J. Marie Nemeth, and I am honored to be running for the Platte County Republican Central Committee, District 13-2.
Many people have asked why I decided to run, and the answer is simple. Like many Republicans, I watched the news and wondered why more people were not standing up for our conservative values. I cared deeply about what was happening, but I realized that lasting change begins right here at home. After several members of our community encouraged me to become more involved in the Republican Party, my husband asked me a question that stayed with me: “You keep saying you want to make a difference. Where do you really want to make that difference? It starts with you.” He was right.
That conversation inspired me to step forward and serve. My goal is simple: to represent District 13-2 with transparency, integrity, common sense, and a steadfast commitment to conservative Republican values.
I have truly fallen in love with Platte County and the wonderful people who call it home. Since May, I have spent countless hours walking neighborhoods, knocking on doors, meeting residents, listening to concerns, answering questions, and earning trust. Every conversation has strengthened my desire to serve this community.
I am a proud conservative Republican. My values are rooted in personal responsibility, limited government, fiscal responsibility, and service to others. My professional background in upper management and leadership has taught me accountability, thoughtful decision-making, collaboration, and the importance of following through on commitments. Those experiences have prepared me to serve with integrity, listen respectfully, and focus on practical solutions.
I understand the responsibilities of a Republican Central Committee member, and I believe our committee should communicate openly, operate transparently, and keep Republicans informed and engaged. If elected, I will work to support conservative candidates committed to lower taxes, responsible government, and keeping the promises they make to voters. I will also advocate for transparency and accountability from those elected to serve our community.
If you’re wondering whether you live in District 13-2, the district generally includes the homes along Running Horse Road south of the YMCA and north of 120th Street, the Seven Bridges subdivision, and several surrounding rural homes.
I respectfully ask for your vote and support so I may serve District 13-2 with dedication and integrity. Together, we can continue building a stronger Republican Party by staying informed, staying involved, and working to strengthen our community.
Thank you for your time, your consideration, and your support. I look forward to meeting many more of you in the weeks ahead.
