Chris Kendall of Farley is officially announcing his candidacy to retain his role as Platte County Treasurer.
Kendall will be vying for the Republican nomination in the primary on August 4.
He has served in the position since being appointed by the county commission to fill the vacancy left by the previous officeholder in March 2025 and was later confirmed by Governor Mike Kehoe after an extensive vetting process in early 2025.
This year’s election will choose a treasurer to fill out the remainder of the unexpired term. The position will be on the ballot once again in 2028 for a full four year term.
“I have always been deeply committed to my community, and this role naturally aligns with my background and my desire to have a deeper impact on the county as a whole. As I went through the interview and discovery process last year, I realized I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to step into a role that perfectly matched my skill set. It has allowed me to contribute more to our community by fostering stability, transparency and accountability within the treasurer’s office.”
Kendall holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and has extensive experience across private accounting, banking, bank consulting, and non-profit accounting. These diverse roles have equipped him with a thorough understanding of accounting, data analysis, auditing, procedure development, investment analysis, personal communication and relationship building.
Kendall also holds a master’s degree in ministry and has served as pastor of Salem Christian Church in Weston for the past 10 years.
He leads Bible studies and is actively involved as an adult sponsor and leader of West Platte’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes group.
Kendall is a lifelong resident of Platte County, a 1984 graduate of West Platte High School and has remained deeply involved in the community. Kendall previously served as a Village of Farley Trustee and spent many years as a commissioner on the Farley Special Road District, stepping down when he accepted the role of county treasurer.
Kendall enjoys staying active in the community by volunteering whenever the occasion arises. He assists on the sidelines at West Platte football games by keeping statistics, provides occasional broadcasting and support work for North Productions, serves as a photographer for athletes’ families during track season, and has supervised and officiated youth basketball for many years. He also sings with the Canto Chorale and serves as the group’s treasurer.
