Perry Alexander, a senior at the Platte County R-3 High School, joined other students from the Midwest at KCI Airport last Friday for the trip to New York City where they will join the famous McDonald’s High School Band for Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. A student from Tarkio High School and Perry will represent Missouri in the band. Watch for the black, white and orange uniform in the trumpet section when you watch the parade on TV Thursday. The band will also march in the Rose Bowl Parade on New Year’s Day.


The Tobacco Market at Weston opened Nov. 19 with sales in all three warehouses. This was the largest opening day in several years, selling a total of 526,428 pounds, averaging $1.41 per pound. The high basket was $1.48 per pound.

The Thrift Shop sponsored as a community project by the United Methodist Church is once again open for business. Located on Main Street above the library, the shop sells good, clean used clothing, used toys and household items at low cost.


Mr. and Mrs. Jams E. Cline of Maysvile, Mo. announce the birth of a daughter on Nov. 9, 1979. She weighed seven pounds, nine ounces and has been named Jennie Sue. Mrs. Cline was formerly Miss Jane Pasley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pasley of near Camden Point.
