EDITOR:

My name is Tom Norris, and I am a candidate for a Committeeman’s seat on the Platte County Republican Central Committee. I am running to represent the residents living in District 13-3. I am not a polished politician. I am a grassroots patriot that sees that a change is needed in Jefferson City and the solutions start at the county level. Damara Friederich is the grassroots candidate running for the committeewoman’s seat to represent District 13-3 on the central committee. Damara and I represented Platte County as delegates at the Missouri Republican Convention in May 2024.

The local conspiracy theory

Fricker should recuse himself

As candidates for the central committee seats, we both purchased yard signs to help promote us for the upcoming primary election on Tuesday, Aug. 6. My wife and I met with the gentleman that owns the property where the entrance sign to our neighborhood is located and asked for his permission to place our signs near the entrance sign. He gladly gave us permission. We placed our signs on Wednesday, July 17. The following Saturday afternoon, our signs were vandalized with spray paint. Waking up on Sunday morning, I was notified that the signs had been “stomped on” and the metal stands were twisted and now unusable.

Recently, I have received a multitude of negative ads, emails, and text messages directed at conservative candidates running for state offices. Now this negativity has reached into our county election. Instead of bringing us closer together, those wanting to keep the power and not return it to the citizens where it belongs, are driving an even bigger wedge in the gap.
