The flood-delayed 130th annual Platte County Fair is set for next Wednesday through Saturday, Aug. 25-28 at the county fairgrounds in Tracy. It was originally scheduled for July 13-17 but had to be postponed because of flooding conditions in Tracy. The postponement cost the fair one of its featured attractions, which was to be a concert performance by popular country music group Confederate Railroad.


John D. and Betty L. (Banks) McDaniel of Faucett will observe their 40th wedding anniversary Aug. 28 from 2-4 p.m. at the Willowbrook Community Center in Willowbrook, Mo.

A 15-under team from Platte City won the regular season title with an 11-1 record and then came back through the losers bracket to beat Camden Point twice in the finals of the league tournament to finish 6-1 and win the championship.


Businesses and individuals are being asked to contributes an important flood relief effort for Platte County. The Platte County Economic Development Council (EDC) teamed with the Platte County Commission this week to launch a funding plan to Platte County businesses affected by the flood.
