Worm races created a lot of excitement at the Platte City branch of the Mid-Continent Library Monday afternoon. Approximately 20 children between the ages of 4 and 14 tried out the new type of racing. The children were seated in a circle around a cardboard track, the first worm to race from the outer edge of a two-foot wide circle to the bull’s eye circle in the center was the winner. The owners could only give encouragement to their worm by tapping on the cardboard behind the worm, the rest was up to the worm.
