Improvements are on the way for two stretches of Hwy. 45 through Platte County.
MoDOT says it will begin improvements to Missouri Route 45 this spring and summer.
The project will focus on the following two sections of Hwy. 45:
*Pavement resurfacing of a 14-mile stretch from Buchanan County line to Rte. 273
*Pavement resurfacing and replacement of a 12-mile stretch from Rte. 273 to Moore’s Ferry Road
MoDOT says the southern portion of Hwy. 45 was resurfaced in 2022.
An additional proposed project includes adding a southbound left turn lane at Hwy. 45 and Jones-Meyer Road in 2025.
What impact will this project have on traffic?
According to MoDOT, it is likely that during construction there will not be a complete closure and one lane of traffic will remain open during both phases of the scheduled work. This will be under direction of a flagging operation or pilot car.
What is the timeline for this project?
The project let in January and construction is scheduled to begin this spring. Construction is anticipated to be completed by fall of 2023. All work is weather dependent.
