Andrea Marie Jones (center) was crowned queen of the 159th Platte County Fair on opening night last Wednesday, July 20 at the fairgrounds in Tracy. Andrea, age 19, was also named Miss Congeniality from the field of nine contestants. Trinity Wrightfield (left) was named second runner-up, and Rachel Reichert (right) was named first runner-up. Andrea Jones is a 2020 graduate of Platte County High School and is currently attending Northwest Missouri State University majoring in education and is also a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority. She is the daughter of Troy and Phyllis Jones. Some longtime readers may connect the Jones name to Landmark history. Andrea’s great-grandparents, Max and Lucy Jones, owned and operated The Landmark for many years prior to 1979. Pizza Shoppe of Platte City served as Andrea’s sponsor in the contest. She will next represent Platte County at the Missouri State Fair in August.
