ALDI to open near I-29 and 64th St.

Discount grocer ALDI will be opening a new store by the end of the year in Tremont Square at 6236 Chatham Avenue near I-29 and 64th Street. It will be the second ALDI store in Platte County, with the existing location in the Tiffany Springs Market Center at 8780 N. Ambassador Drive. The fast-growing retailer offers significant savings on many grocery items and doesn’t require a membership. Consumers encounter a different level of service, where shoppers pay a quarter deposit to use a cart and bag their own groceries. ALDI says the cost savings from these self-service practices are passed on to their customers. ALDI is poised to become the third-largest grocery retailer by store count in 2022. It currently has 2,100 stores in 37 states.
