Workmen adjusted a transit at the site for a new $3 million middle school under construction in Platte City. So far construction equipment has been used to move ground to level out the site. A fence has been removed and destruction of the tennis court started last week.


North Platte crowned a homecoming king and queen at halftime of the football game. The 1990 royalty is Chad Rogers and Shelly Thomas.

The Platte County Commission Thursday approved the appointment of Mark M. Ferguson as an assistant prosecutor at a salary of $14,000 per year. The commission also received three bids for drug and alcohol counseling for the juvenile division.


Gary Witt was sworn in by the Honorable Andrew Jackson Higgins, justice of the Missouri Supreme Court, thereby taking the final step to becoming an attorney. Judge Higgins, who is from Platte City, personally performed the administration of the oath in his chambers in Jefferson City.
