A designated community-wide garage sale day is a often a staple of smaller cities and towns, and Platte City is no exception. On Saturday, the Platte City Chamber of Commerce sponsored the community-wide garage sale activity, which typically draws a lot of traffic into the city, often boosting surrounding businesses such as the fast food restaurants. Many sales were set up in front of the Platte County High School complex along Hwy. 92. Other residents held their sales at their homes.
