A minor was hospitalized after the vehicle he was traveling in left the roadway and overturned.

The single-vehicle accident occurred just before 10 p.m. on Sunday, May 24. The driver, David Craig, 34, of Platte City, was traveling southbound on Interstate 29 in a 1993 Ford when he traveled off the roadway, near the exit ramp to Hwy. HH. The vehicle overturned before coming to rest on the passenger side, according to a traffic crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The 14-year-old male passenger sustained moderate injuries and was taken by private vehicle to Children’s Mercy Hospital.

Craig did not have driver insurance through a carrier at the time of the crash, the report says.

Multiple agencies assisted the Missouri State Highway Patrol, including the Platte County Sheriff’s Office and Platte City Police Department.
