Unite Private Networks, a connectivity utility provider, announced Friday that the 17-year old company will be relocating its headquarters into a 15,000 square foot office in Zona Rosa.

“We are pleased to welcome UPN to Platte County,” said Alicia Stephens, director of the Platte County Economic Development Council. “The office location in Zona Rosa provides a high tech company such as UPN with a great location, easy access and good visibility. Platte County’s office market is picking up as evidenced in adding UPN to the list of Platte County companies, such as Citizen’s Bank, also in Zona Rosa. We are thrilled to announce 30 more new jobs for Platte County.”

Currently, Unite provides services to 300 communities across the country. Its telecommunication infrastructure expands over 5,500 metro fiber route miles and 2,500 on-net buildings.

“UPN has a long-standing history in Kansas City and we are proud to continue to call the KC metro our home,” said Kevin Anderson, chairman and CEO of UPN. “We’ve created nearly 100 new jobs over the last couple of years, with the majority being right here in Kansas City, and we plan to continue that growth into the future.”

Gov. Jay Nixon expressed a dual congratulatory message Friday in recognition of the company’s continued success and availability of tech talent in the KC area.

“Kansas City continues to strengthen its role as a hub for tech talent thanks to cutting edge companies like UPN, which are creating jobs and growing their business,”Nixon said. “I congratulate UPN on their continued success and the high-paying, highly skilled jobs they have created for Missouri.”

UPN will relocate from its existing Liberty headquarters into the mixed-use urban center located inside the heart of Zona Rosa.

“We are delighted that UPN has selected Zona Rosa as its base of operations in Kansas City,” said Andrea Olshan CEO of Olshan Properties. “Zona Rosa is the ideal place for this local company to grow while serving both the immediate community and the entire Midwest.”

The expansion will better support the company’s future growth as UPN continues to invest in telecommunications infrastructure across the state. Its new location will feature a network operations center, an indoor fitness facility for staff, and state-of-the-art technology.

If UPN meets the Missouri Department of Economic Development’s job creation criteria, the company could receive an economic incentive to assist with their relocation and expansion.

In addition to their existing headquarters, UPN has five corporate locations across the country. Since the company’s inception in 1998, UPN says it has has served as a lifeblood for a number of businesses, schools, and governments.
