According to Richard Sayles, Platte City police chief, the department has handed over the report on the incident to the prosecutor’s office for possible charges in the case. The chief declined further comment.

Jill Brockman, assistant prosecutor, said as of Tuesday that no charges had been filed in the incident, but charges may still be filed this week as prosecutors review the case.

Because no charges have yet been filed in the incident, Brockman declined to comment on details of the case.

According to initial reports, the case involves a 45-year-old male and a juvenile.
