Man killed by train at Parkville

A man sitting on railroad tracks just outside of Parkville was killed Monday night when he was hit by a train.

John B. Molenkamp, 55, of Platte County, was dead at the scene, according to authorities. Engineers of the eastbound train saw someone sitting on the south rail at about 9:50 p.m. Monday. Emergency brakes were applied on the train.
