Kicking off the 2022 Season of Landmark Pickem

Landmark Live is headed to real TV. At least, to the studios of real TV station Fox 4 WDAF-TV of Kansas City.

On a special night and time, Landmark Live will broadcast from the Fox 4 studios next Wednesday, June 20. The Landmark Live episode will go live at a special time–7:30 p.m.–on that night.

Landmark Live hosts Ivan Foley and Brad Carl will be talking with Mike Thompson, chief meteorologist for Fox 4, during the special episode. It’s possible other Fox 4 personalities will join in. They’ll talk about TV news, weather forecasting, how forecasting the weather has changed over the years for Thompson and others, and the art of delivering the weather on a nightly newscast, among many other TV-related topics. As usual in the unscripted action that is Landmark Live, expect some off-the-wall questions and surprise topics to erupt.

Foley and Carl will involve Thompson in games for prizes for Landmark Live viewers, with concert tickets to see artists such as Lonestar, the Temptations, and many others as possible prizes, as well as free wine tastings from Jowler Creek Winery in Platte City.

Landmark Live is a weekly Facebook Live telecast that’s a production of the staff of The Landmark. It began last September and has grown in popularity along the way, with its most-watched episode being a recent DWI Prevention show done in conjunction with the Platte County Sheriff’s Department. The DWI Prevention episode has had more than 10,800 views and still growing, topping an episode done from the KMBC-TV Channel 9 studios in December. The Channel 9 episode had more than 9,300 views.

Landmark Live shows are telecast live on Facebook. The episodes then remain on Facebook for viewing at your leisure, which means if you miss the live broadcast you can always check it out later at Facebook.com/plattecountylandmark.

If your business is interested in being an advertising sponsor on the Landmark Live episode from Fox 4, call the newspaper at 816.858.0363 or email ivan@plattecountylandmark.com.
