RECORDER OF DEEDS IN SOUTH CAROLINA

Platte County Recorder of Deeds Christopher L. Wright is shown (along with a copy of The Landmark) on the mezzanine of the historic Francis Marian Hotel in Charleston, South Carolina with Kim Wyatt, his chief deputy. Wright is attending the PRIA (Property Records Industry of America) mid-winter conference and is speaking this week to the whole group on the subject of foreign land ownership. PRIA is a non-profit group made up of individuals from both the private and public sector that come together to solve recording issues for recorders from around the nation. Wright is speaking on foreign land ownership and about foreign land owned by government entities in Platte County as well the governor’s executive order last month that prohibits foreign adversaries like China, Russia and Iran from owning agriculture land 10 miles from military installations in Missouri.
