Recently-made new members of the National Honor Society at Platte County R-3 High School are Rick Hoskins, Pam Bryan, Kathy Hall, Jennifer McTaggart, Tami Jones, Kristia Kumm, Russell Robertson, Tony Smith, Bryan Pearce, Kim Crowley, Tammy Sanders and Ken Klingenberg.


Jenny Gates, shown reclining on the floor, gets first aid from fellow students in Carole Hutcheson’s fifth grade class at the Platte City Elementary Annex. They were involved in a first-aid lesson.

Disagreement between the Platte County R-3 School District and Platte County Educational Association on negotiations for the 1981-82 teachers’ contract developed during the board’s Thursday meeting. The board announced it would negotiate on salaries. The teacher organization said it wants to negotiate on its proposed master contract, of which salary “is only one part.” The board said it would have three representatives on the negotiations team and asked PCEA and the system’s other teacher group, Community Teachers Association, each to have three members.


Cindy Schnelder receives certification from Mary Miller of the Platte City Study Club naming Cindy as a sophomore pilgrim. Tammy Sanders is alternate.
