I don’t want to concern you, but I was filling out an online form last week and it asked for my hair color. I hit the drop-down menu and started to go to my lifetime answer of “brown,” and I saw “mostly grey” as a possible answer. My mind locked up with moral ambiguity. I decided to tell the truth and hit the “mostly grey” choice, and it was the saddest moment of my day. Life comes at you fast.

Speaking of gray. You can spell it grey or gray. It swings both ways. Americans prefer “gray,” and the English folks use “grey.” Feel free to use either going forward.

We fought a war over tea once, but apparently, we compromised on “gray”. Seems like an under-appreciated moment of world peace.

The NFL has announced Bad Bunny will headline Super Bowl LX. Yeah, same. I have no earthly idea who or what is a Bad Bunny.

Do parents with the last name Bunny name their children “Bad”? That seems…well.. bad. Are there people with the surname of Bunny? That seems a little cruel.

Speaking of bunnies, I’ve been watching the Black Rabbit on Netflix. It’s pretty decent, I recommend.

I’m fairly sure my father once had a “membership” to the Playboy Bunny Club. Are all of these “bunnies” related? I’m not sure why he had a membership. The clubs were in cities throughout the country and Kansas City had one at The Continental Hotel. It opened in 1964. It closed down in 1972. I’m not sure if he got his money’s worth out of that or not. I’m sure it was a must have for his small-town legal practice.

Another little-known world peace compromise is the word “cancelled.” It also swings both ways. In America we prefer to spell it with one “L” and the British prefer the same word, but with double “LL’s.” Apparently, we let them keep the extra “L” when we sent them back home in 1783. Probably just a pity move on our behalf. They lost 13 colonies and were a huge favorite in the betting markets of the day but failed to execute their gameplan and went home with nothing to show for it but a couple extra “LL’s” and “grey” to take back to their people. Kings are overrated in war planning.

I did you the favor and looked it up. Apparently, Bad Bunny was not born Bad Bunny. He was born Benito Antonio Martinez Oscasio, and now it all makes sense. You can’t headline a Super Bowl with a name that long. It’s against the NFL rulebook, right after the tush push rules, I’m fairly certain. Anyway, I’ll call him Benito going forward. One of his songs is titled “Titi Me Pregunto’.”

None of that has anything to do with bunnies, by the way. I think that means his aunt is pregnant, but my Spanish is very limited. I took college Spanish, but the teacher gave up on me when I couldn’t roll my R’s. I think I dropped that class to teach her a lesson.

(Guy Speckman can be reached rolling his R’s to Bad Bunny tunes)
