First of all my sincere condolences to you and your entire family on the loss of your brother, Randy.

Potholes on I-29 at Platte City

When I got your paper yesterday I immediately opened it to the middle, which I never do, and saw your brother’s obituary. I noticed his picture first and as I began to read it, I I went back, double checked his name and realized that he was your brother. You did an outstanding job writing that.

After that I went back a page looking for your column as I usually read it first and immediately saw the small font all the way down the column. What a beautiful tribute you created for Randy and your entire family; not just in the present but for generations to come. I wept as I read you describing your final time with Randy, which very much reminded me of my own experience with my father after his final fatal stroke.

Most of us, your readers, had no idea about Randy, or his condition and how he got there. It’s heartwarming to me and I’m sure to all others who read your column that you spent your time in the most generous of ways with Randy over the many years and that the Spirit whispered to your heart to turn around and go back for him that last evening.

Kind regards and condolences.

               --Steve Clark
