Police are now actively looking for a Parkville woman who is a person of interest in the death of her ex-husband. Letti Strait, 48, also known as Letti Kay Rivera-Strait, is being sought to face four felony counts in relation to a false tax return that was filed this past January. Charles V. Commisano was found shot several times and laying in a pool of blood at his Riverside residence on High Drive in September of 2007.
Third ward residents in Platte City will only have one alderman for the next few weeks after the resignation of Aaron Jung. Jung submitted a letter of resignation Monday morning, stating that he and his wife have purchased property outside the city limits and that he is no longer eligible to serve. Mayor Frank Offutt told board members Tuesday night that he expects to have a replacement in place for board members to vote on by the next meeting.
Like a lot of people, Andy Johnson of Platte City has some hobbies. This year, one of his hobbies has gotten out of control. Johnson has constructed and will operate a free haunted garage on Saturday (Halloween night) from dusk until midnight for Platte City area children. It is located on Hawthorne Drive in Platte City.
