Has democracy been saved yet? Will the saving of democracy be celebrated with some type of party, government approved and sponsored, vaccines required, I can only assume. Someday, you’ll be able to tell your kids how we used to vote for presidential candidates, those were the days.

Remember when Kamala Harris bought the whole Jussie Smollett story? The news media has scrubbed that whole story at this point, so I guess it is no longer important. Jussie fit neatly into the narrative of the day and that immediately gave her enough to trust his story that some MAGA supporters had beat him on a Chicago street in the middle of the night. The only problem with the whole story is that not one person with an ounce of common sense believed the story, except the media and the left. Turns out common sense was the winner because the story was not true. These kind of false incidents have been on rinse and repeat since. Make of that what you will.

This is a jail free column. There will be no mention. Foley is mourning the tax being crushed and his opportunity to cut the ribbon. He ain’t getting any younger and that has to be one of his last chances to get his name on a county-purchased bronze plaque and to cut a ribbon. Prayers up for him and all impacted.

I will say that I have found a little rust on some vents around the house and going to get busy with a wire brush and some Rustoleum in short order.
That’s not true. I’m just going to tell my wife about it and see if she does something.

Not sure who needs to know this, but I found out that there is a thing called Kool Aid Days that takes place next weekend. Kool Aid was invented by a guy from Hastings, Nebraska and the town celebrates each year by hosting Kool Aid Days that includes the world’s largest Kool Aid Stand. You can buy a mug for $3 or $5 for the color changing version and drink as much sugar water as your diabetes can stand.

The flavors go on for what seems like blocks, lemonade, strawberry, strawberry kiwi, watermelon, grape, cherry, whatever your A1C desires.

Anyway, if you want to impress your Facebook friends, drive on up to Hastings this weekend.

Edwin Perkins invented Kool Aid. I suspect he was simply bored by living in Hastings, Nebraska in 1927 but he came up with it because no one would buy his other drink concentrate called Fruit Smack. Similar to modern day meth cookers, he figured out a way to dehydrate Fruit Smack into powder and he renamed it Kool Aid and the rest is history.

Kraft Foods bought the brand in 1970.

The parade is on Saturday and yes, Kool Aid Man is expected to attend.
