Quarterback Patrick Mahomes engaged in a conversation with linebacker Drue Tranquill during a quick break in a full contact portion of a workout at Chiefs training camp in St. Joseph on Saturday, July 27. Mahomes had just hurried a throw after being blitzed by the defense and reacted in verbally animated fashion, though it wasn’t clear why or at whom he was upset. It was Family Fun Day at training camp and officials at Missouri Western State University estimated 7,500 in attendance. The training camp has activities for kids, including bounce houses, rock climbing, field goal kicking, football toss, drill running, and obstacle courses. The camp runs through Aug. 15. First preseason game for the Chiefs will be Saturday, Aug. 10 at Jacksonville against the Jaguars.
