Let’s look at Dagmar Wood’s recurring history with Platte County.

VFW says thank you, Platte City

Tax credits that make homes affordable

Local GOP insiders have conspired to blacklist

In the 2018-19 fiscal year Dagmar voted not to pay a note for Zona Rosa. Consequently, Platte County’s ability to borrow money dropped to ‘junk bond’ status, causing the interest rate to borrow money to increase. That junk bond status remains today. Higher interest rates to be paid by taxpayer, brought to you by Dagmar.
In 2024 she voted for a new jail, a $400 million tax increase. Way to tax the heck out of your neighbors, Dagmar!

She voted to put the largest tax increase in the history of Platte County on the ballot with absolutely no input from constituents. She then dispersed a flyer concerning the increase and conveniently left out important information and did not confer with the county auditor to verify the numbers. Way to skew the facts and ignore the concerns of the taxpayer, Dagmar.

She brags that she helped pass SB190, the Senate bill that deals with lowering property taxes for senior citizens who qualify for social security. She is neither a registered lobbyist nor is she an elected legislator. Consequently, she can’t “vote” on the passage of any legislative bill. Way to think you are the goddess of SB190, Dagmar.

Concerning that tax freeze for senior citizens, she is telling people it freezes their taxes and stops all increases. Not true. Way to stretch the truth, Dagmar.
So now, let’s summarize her history as a commissioner.

1) She doesn’t understand how one of her decisions effect the county’s long term financial situation. Consequently, junk bond status is a way of life in Platte County. Way to not do your homework, Dagmar.

2) She voted to put the largest tax increase on Platte County’s history, without the knowledge of you, the taxpayer. Way to ignore the taxpayers, Dagmar.

3) She authorized the distribution of an inaccurate statement to the public concerning the tax increase and used data from an outside source instead of the jail experts the commissioners had previously hired to provide the same information. Way to skew the facts, Dagmar.

And now, she professes to be a fiscal conservative. She wants to tax you $400 million dollars.

Does this sound conservative to you?

She thinks she is qualified to be the next assessor, not based on her qualifications or her ability to run a government office, but because of her disdain for the current assessor.

That, plus the fact that she really wants to keep getting that county paycheck.

You can see what she truly thinks of you, the taxpayer. And you can also see her history of making business decisions. She has no certified appraisal experience and no compassion for the Platte Countians’ tax burden. She thrives on her ego and sometimes may embellish the truth.

In contrast, Marcus Farr is educated, experienced, dedicated to his profession, honest, and is an all-around good person.

Platte Countians…..you know who you should elect for the next Platte County Assessor.

And you know that person is Marcus Farr.
