Facing felony charges of stealing and an ouster attempt brought on by the state attorney general Platte County Public Administrator John Bless turned in a letter of resignation on Friday. Meanwhile, Bless is set to appear in court Thursday for his preliminary hearing on the stealing charges. On May 3, Bless, 44, of Weston, was charged with three counts of felony stealing. The charges allege Bless negotiated checks from three different guardianship accounts on March 10. Two of the checks were in the amount of $1,000 each and another was $2,500, each made payable to Bless.


These Platte County R-3 High School students are winners of the state business competition. Pictured is the team of Gina George, Stacy Tyler and Kari Wing, which scored third in team competition for novice accounting. George also placed third in individual accounting. Also shown are Starla Sands, Carey Cline and Lindsey Wagner. Sands, Cline and George placed third in business knowledge. George placed fifth in individual knowledge competition. Wagner placed fifth in novice speed typing.
