The annual antique show to benefit the American Field Service (AFS) program at the Platte County R-3 High School will be held this weekend. Saturday, March 17 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, March 18 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be 45 booths of antiques, collectibles and primitives featured in the show, ranging from oak furniture to fine china and glassware. Admission of $1 at the door will go to bringing foreign AFS students to Platte County R-3 and funding for local students named to the Americans Abroad program. There will be free babysitting and a snack bar along with the show.
Four North Platte basketball players have been named to the Northwest Missouri Conference’s south division first team. They are Vicki Stubbs, Deanna Seckel, Tracy Resler and Bill Bader.
Jerry Cain, coordinator of campus ministries at William Jewell College, will be leading a series of meetings at the Platte City Baptist Church on March 18-21. This “Youth Encounter” is designed for young people grades 7-12 and will deal with the subject “How Can I Know God’s Will For My Life?”
The regular meeting of St. John’s Lutheran Ladies Aid was postponed until Tuesday of last week when they held an all day meeting and quilting. There were 14 ladies present.
