Elderly pedestrian hit at Barry and Green Hills

Kansas City police say a pedestrian suffered critical injuries when hit by a car at the intersection of Barry Road and Green Hills Road in Platte County.

The incident occurred about 7:05 p.m. Tuesday night.

Officer Alayna Gonzalez with the Kansas City Police Department’s public information unit said a Ford Focus was traveling east on Barry Road, with the green light. An elderly female was crossing the road from the north to the south.

Police say the woman was struck by the front of the Ford. The woman was taken to an area hospital with critical injuries. The driver of the Ford was not injured.
