I just finished the article “New Courthouse Off the Table ” from The Landmark, dated Wednesday, Oct. 25.
I’m very pleased with the reporting on the subject, with one glaring exception. Knowing personally of first district commissioner Dagmar Wood’s passion on the necessity for a new jail as opposed to a massive Cass County style “Justice Center,” I would have loved to have seen in print her input on this issue.
I have heard her speak publicly at length regarding this. Commissioner Wood was instrumental in organizing the “public safety committee.”
I think it also would be a great service to the people of Platte County to know, considering that she is going to be up for re-election soon. It is important for her constituents to see and hear how hard she is working for us to meet our needs while being a good steward of our tax dollars.
